Negative taken of John Walker at a podium. John Walker, a civil rights attorney in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, was born about 1939. Though he grew up in Hope, Hempstead County, Arkansas, Walker graduated from Yates High School in Houston, Texas in 1954. He enrolled in Arkansas Agricultural, Mechanical, and Normal College in Pine Bluff, Jefferson, County, Arkansas where he excelled academically and on the debate team. He was twice named best debater in annual regional competitions. He attended New York University on a John Hale Whitney Fellowship. He received a law degree from Yale University. As of 2001 John W. Walker is still practicing as an attorney with an office at 1723 Broadway Street in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas.

Biographical note: Attorney, John W. Walker was born in Bloomington, Indiana, studied law until 1897, then studied shorthand reporting in Washington, D. C. He came to Tombstone in 1903, was official court reporter in Tombstone while it was the county seat of Cochise County and in 1917 moved to Tucson where he was clerk under U. S. District Court Judge William H. Sawtelle. He retired in March 1947 and died in December 1948. From the description of Cochise County Court case transcripts...
